Art Matters:
Introducing Helen Tabor to our collection

Helen's wonderfully ethereal oil paintings of both people and landscapes have made her one of the UK’s most successful contemporary artists. A Scottish Royal Academy prize-winning artist, her use of texture and colour, combined with a delicate and insightful interpretation of the world around her, has won her both public and critical acclaim.

As a longstanding champion of Helen’s work, Susie has been selling her works ever since she established her first shop, a small contemporary art gallery in Notting Hill, over twenty years ago. They have much in common, drawing inspiration from their lives in the countryside, surrounded by trees, birdsong and animals, as well as a passion for the visual arts.

Susie has always loved paintings and hated looking at bare walls. Her very first purchase for her first home was a painting. With so little else in the house at the time, that was probably quite a strange choice, but she feels that Art is vital for injecting interest and individuality to a room.

This collaboration is celebration of their shared history, aesthetic and passion for injecting art into the everyday. The collection features a broad selection of Helen’s work, from land and seascapes of the wild and beautiful Western Isles of Scotland, to garden scenes, interiors and portraits. Most recently, Helen has been inspired by the indigenous people of the Arctic circle and Finland, and a number of serene, diaphanous depictions have also been added to the collection.
